Central Florida fishing forecast: Sept. 24

Try the Butler Chain at night for bass.

FRESHWATER: Try at sunset and the first few hours of night on the Butler Chain for bass. Senkos, Texas-rigged plastic worms and flukes worked slowly along the bottom work very well. Use black worms and flukes for best results. With the approaching full moon all the lakes should be good for those targeting bluegills and shellcrackers.

Tarpon, along with a few snook, reds and trout are possible in the ditches of the MINWR.

SALTWATER: Look for schools of mullet in ditches throughout the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and you could find snook, small tarpon and ladyfish nearby. Small swimbaits, spoons, shrimp imitation lures and paddletail jigs work well. A few redfish, trout and jacks are possible.
