FRESHWATER: Use Senko lures and Texas-rigged plastic worms in deeper waters of ponds and small lakes throughout the area. Water temperatures are up and fish can will be staging in deeper and cooler waters. Try surface plugs and plastic frogs nears shorelines at daybreak, but after 8 a.m. fish will have moved to deeper water.
Look for slot-sized redfish near Patillo Creek in the Indian River.
SALTWATER: Walk, bike or kayak near Patillo Creek in the Indian River for shots at slot-sized redfish and some good-sized trout. Paddletail jigs and swimbaits both work well. Try surface plugs near bait pods at daybreak. A few snook and small tarpon can be caught in the network of creeks.
