Central Florida fishing forecast: Sept. 20

The Little Econ is good for anglers on foot or kayaks.

FRESHWATER: Walk along or kayak the Little Econ, stopping at big turns with drop-offs and structure for bass. Try a Bitter’s Baits Salty Hog or Jitter Craw slowly along the bottom for best results. Senkos and small swimbaits work well also. Try small jigs and crickets near the banks for bluegills and a few warmouth.

Mullet can be found in the surf, and there are plenty of predatory fish nearby.

SALTWATER: Look for mullet moving along the coast for shots at tarpon, snook, redfish, jacks, bluefish, Spanish mackerel and ladyfish. Surface plugs work well, but if you’re after redfish and snook, work baits across the bottom. Live mullet, spoons and hard jerkbaits all work well.
