Central Florida fishing forecast: Sept. 15

FRESHWATER: Try kayaking or canoeing the Wekiva River for shots at bass, bluegills, warmouth and catfish. High water levels will make the trip easier, but the water has been moving faster than normal so limit your paddle against the current to a minimal distance. Use Bass Assassin lures and Senkos for bass. Try crickets and small jigs along the shoreline for panfish. Use cut liver or dead shrimp in deeper areas for catfish.

SALTWATER: Redfish, trout along with a few snook and small tarpon can be caught near Eddy Creek in the southern Mosquito Lagoon. Live shrimp and shrimp imitation lures work well.
